Windmills, Chocolate, Swans, and Wooden Shoes

We took at day trip to De Zaanse Schans, a small Dutch countryside village where we got to tour windmills, feed goats and swans, drink hot chocolate, eat stroopwafels, and sample cheese. It was impossibly picturesque and quaint, and even though it was definitely a major tourist attraction, (sort of like Colonial Williamsburg in Virginia), we loved it and I’m sure we’ll be taking more trips out there with our visitors when they come, too.
