Winter Celebrations

December and January are busy months for us with James Wilson’s birthday, Christmas, New Year, and my birthday. This year things are different with the pandemic, but we’re having a beautiful winter season together with our little family unit and we have so much to be grateful for, and we are. I loved the intimacy of Christmas, which normally overwhelms me. We focused on food! It was the right choice.

James Wilson turned 15!! This cake from a local bakery was incredible.
JW didn’t get to celebrate with their friends this year, but we did an awesome virtual Sherlock Holmes murder mystery game with Michael, Kristina, Brooke and Kevin. We didn’t solve the murder, but we had a blast trying.
Thanks so much to family and friends who helped make JW’s birthday special
JW and James shucked oysters for our Christmas Eve oyster stew. James and I had to eat a few on the half shell, of course. Irish Hearty oysters are the bomb.
Brian, Kitty and I spent a lot of time hanging out asking when dinner would be ready.
We feasted on king crab legs with our oyster stew, and Christmas day we grazed on duck pate, cheeses and other good nibbles, and Christmas night we had a very special dinner that was delivered from a local restaurant.
We’re trying to support our local restaurants as much as we can. They are closed except for takeout and delivery.
I got an electric guitar for Christmas! I’m already having so much fun learning to play.
We’ve been taking lots of walks and loving all the lights that twinkle in the darkness and help us feel cheery.
Lots and lots of walks
But also a lot of cozy time with candles and our fireplace.

Sending out love to everyone this season. We miss and love you. xoxo
