Amsterdam Gothic

Halloween was nice and witchy with the full moon and general Wuthering Heights misty moors vibes. We’re in the permanent gothic season in Amsterdam. No point in resisting it, it’s best to let the moody atmosphere do its thing.

James and I watched the original Rebecca Halloween night and I told him he needs to buy me a house I’d like to haunt when I die. Any of these will do.

The Shrimp Whisker needed new tarring so James drove her out to Martin who fixed her up
Shrimpy’s tucked in for the winter. We may get to take her out if the weather cooperates but she’s mostly done until Spring.
I met a new grey heron

JW made this strawberry cheesecake for Halloween. It was divine.
Life’s always sunny for this goofball
My dad loves Halloween, as most of my childhood friends can attest. He was too unwell to set up his usual haunted yard and terrify all the neighborhood kids this year (kids come from all different neighborhoods to get scared by my dad). I shared this memory with him on a video call and he laughed so hard at one point I thought he might actually die laughing, which would probably be his favorite way to go, but let’s hope he sticks around for a bit longer.
