Getting Ready for Christmas

It’s so lovely in Amsterdam during the holidays. The streets and canals are full of lights and it makes the dark days feel cozy and inviting.

We got our tree from the same place as last year, right at the end of our street. Loaded it onto James’s bike to bring it home. Hard to see how big it is, but James has to stand on a ladder to reach the top.

I’ve had a miserable head and chest cold all week (got it last year at this time, too). That’s me in the steam tent James made for me. I had to miss our friend Ellen’s holiday party, which bummed me out. She’s a wonderful hostess. James represented and stayed til the end, — he’s never one to leave a party early.
I loved spending this time with James Wilson. I had his undivided attention and we had such a lovely chat. I’m so grateful for this time in our lives. It’s so perfect right now.
Kitty’s a big fan of the tinsel
The ornament we bought in Rothernburg ob de Tauber last year. I love it and wish I had 20 more. I’d cover the entire tree in birds if it were up to me.
See how big this tree is??

Now that the tree is up we can relax a bit and focus on JW’s birthday which is December 18th. He’s going to be 14 this year. He’s planning to invite a couple of his school friends to do an escape room and then we’re going to go to Sumo for lunch after. More soon….
