D’s Third Visit

Dorothy visited us in Amsterdam for the third time, this time in zero-dark winter, and this underscores that she is THE BEST. We super lucked out with the weather during her week here. It barely rained all week and we actually had sun on a couple of days. It helped a lot.

We got to pick 20 tulips each for free to celebrate International Tulip Day in Dam Square.
We went to De Pijp for Happy Hour and 1 euro oysters
Out on Shrimpy
Feets
We took in the ocean breeze at the North Sea
Pancakes at the Upstairs Pancake House. Was my first time there. It’s so cute — they only have 4 tables and it’s up some crazy Dutch stairs. Loved it.
We went to the Tuschinsky Theater to see Jojo Rabbit. Two enthusiastic thumbs up.
We had a busy, active week but we also spent time just chilling out, working on this puzzle, listening to music and relaxing. The night Dorothy got her appraisal for the house she’s buying we celebrated with champagne (and fizzy zero alcohol for me) and we played every song with the word “house”or “home” we could think of. Congrats on your new house, D! It was so great to spend the week with you my friend. xo
JW had an amazing time on his school ski trip to Switzerland. This is him at the airport at 4:00 am and I’m eternally grateful for James for doing that airport run. He got back Saturday and was tired but happy and he loved the mac and cheese and York mints that D brought him from the States.
