Pink Tulips and Rainbows

I started the day in a crappy mood. It’s Monday, it’s cold dark and gloomy, and I discovered something very unpleasant in the basement.

Brian knows what he did

If I didn’t have plans to meet my friend Meredith for lunch today I probably would have stayed in my pajamas all day. I’m so, so glad I got out because I found the cutest cafe I’ve ever seen in my life.

Meredith and I had plans to meet at another restaurant for lunch but I walked past this place and was smitten so we went here instead. It’s called Cafe Blond, located in the Pijp.

The entire cafe is painted the loveliest shade of pink and just being there shifted my entire mood. I felt all my grumpiness and gloom disappear and I just felt really happy.

Meredith and I both had avocado toast with salmon followed by fabulous cake

Even the fridge is pink

After lunch, Meredith and I walked through the Albert Cuyp Market and I bought myself these pink tulips, which only cost two Euros.

Now I’m back home and I walked Brian in the Vondelpark and the sun even came out a little bit. I’m still not pleased with Brian, but overall I’m feeling much better.
