Dorothy and Co.

It’s crazy, insanely hot in Amsterdam. Record setting, stifling, dangerous heat. Fortunately it’s supposed to break this weekend so we just need to get through one more day and then we’ll get some relief. I’m so glad the weather last week was reasonable for when Dorothy her mom, sister, and niece were visiting. We had the loveliest week!

Relaxing in the garden with Dorothy and Sarah
Sarah always knows what’s going on. When she visited NYC she’d know all the best places. Same with Falls Church (she introduced me to the best Vietnamese iced coffee place in my own neighborhood). She and Dorothy scoped out this awesome Food Trek Festival at the Amstel Park. It was fab.
Deciding what to eat first
Dorothy’s sweet friend at the Goat Farm in the Bos
Avery fed the goats with a baby bottle
Getting Avery suited up for our bike ride to the Bos. She did great!!
Page got her stroopwafel from the famous guy at the Albert Cuyp Market
Taking a break for lunch in Zaanse Schans
Scoping out the old timey pharmacy in the canal ring
Check out these brave ladies. Sarah and Page at the top of the Kat Windmill. They climbed the crazy ladder to get up there, like, no big deal.
Captain D. I wasn’t sure if I’d be able to take the Shrimp Whisker out alone, but I’ve been practicing. I wasn’t confident enough to take the whole gang out solo, but D has always been my co-pilot so I felt like we’d be able to handle it. We did it!! It was perfect! So proud of us.
I loved having these ladies here so much. They were truly the most delightful visitors. So fun and easygoing and I miss them all and hope everyone comes back again.
Meanwhile, James and James Wilson had a busy week back home in Virginia. They spent some time visiting with family and friends and getting JW ready for two weeks at Camp Horizons.
So jealous James got to meet our niece Ava. She was born after we moved here so I haven’t gotten to zerbert those cheeks yet.
