Things That Vexed Me This Week
November 14, 2018
If there’s one thing I know, it’s that me having PMS in Amsterdam is not good for anyone. Behold, I give you a by-no-means-comprehensive list of the many things that have vexed me this week:
James walking Brian off leash
Guy honking at me on sidewalk
The girls at JW’s basketball practice
Same girls at bike rack
My bike lock
Comforter too heavy and too small
My foot
Logistics of basketball
Waiting for packages
Trying to deliver neighbor’s package to correct address
the Tiny Hiney grocery store
Checkout lady swiping groceries too fast
Worrying I’ll never get a job again
Not wanting a job but feeling guilty
Brian sleeping on the couch
Brian getting on the chair
Brian following me all over the house
Brian refusing to get in his bed because the cat’s in it
Brian acting like he’s never taken a walk before in his life
Brian greeting people on the street like he knows them
Getting a no-show reprimand from Pilates
Mopeds in the bike lane (evergreen complaint)
Having to rsvp for stuff with Facebook
Being constipated
The squares on the calendar being too small to write stuff in
Emptying the water receptacle for the dryer after every load
The Dutch medical system
Not having the right coat despite having a billion coats
Shaving my legs
Having a heart attack every time JW rides his bike
Not having a toilet in the bathroom
Not having a sink in the toilet room
Running out of lip balm
The cat
Short legs
Wet leaves
Electronic banking
life in Europe, hell I complained when I lived in France 40 years ago, glad to see things haven’t changed that much.
